My Bookshelf is Getting Full
This is not my bookshelf. I really want one of those ladders with wheels though.
Summer has always meant lots of trips to the library and lots of reading. One year my incoming class had a pages read contest. I won an inflatable chair. It was clear and had glitter in it. I loved it until my little brother popped it. Anyways, this summer I’ve read a few books and have quite a few more on my ever-increasing to-read list. I’ve been buying books a lot recently. I have a few friends who very often like to visit the Boulder Bookstore. My favorite excuse for buying a new book is the fact that you get parking validation if you buy something. So, that makes the book cheaper by about $1-$2. Which is a very valid reason for buying a book right?
My latest purchases: Come Hither, The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro (I just saw a movie based on his book Never Let me Go, I recommend it.), and Scoop, by Evelyn Waugh.

Scoop is SO GOOD. I hope you laugh out loud like I did. Imagine me as the reporter...that should help.
ReplyDeleteYour prose is Hemingwayesque.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this post, especially the quasi-pun on the word valid. I'm not sure what you call that, but it seemed like punishment to me.
I love more excuses to buy books. :)I really have none right now, seeing as our collection explodes over six bookshelves...
